Title International Political Economy
Description An introduction to the subfield of international political economy, covering basic topics in the politics of both trade and finance. Course will review, for example, several explanations political scientists and economists have advanced for variations across trade and monetary systems since the late nineteenth century. Also examines relevant issues at the nation-state level (e.g., endogenous tariff theory). This course provides some background in the requisite economic theory in the form of a set of required background readings drawn from an advanced undergraduate textbook.
