Description |
This course will explore a number of areas in general relativity where dynamical, strong field gravity plays an important role in the physics. Topics covered will include gravitational collapse and black hole formation, black hole collisions and other sources of gravitational waves, and the nature of spacetime singularities. Numerical methods are an important tool in solving the field equations in such situations, and so a portion of the course will be devoted to an introduction to numerical relativity. |
