Title: Freud on the Origin of the Mind
Description: An account of Sigmund Freud's attempt to identify the most basic, irreducible principles of mental life and build a complete and coherent theory around them. Course progresses to a consideration of Freud's application of the theory to phenomena of ordinary mental life, such as aesthetic experience, humor, the susceptibility to superstition and religion, and mourning and mental health.
