Title The Irish Novel
Description This course will look at specific Irish novels from the early 19th century to the late 20th century, with emphasis first on form and structure, including sentence structure, but emphasis also on the relationship between the novels in question (and indeed the novel form) and Irish society. It will include the study of work by writers such as Jonathan Swift, Oscar Wilde, James Joyce, and Samuel Beckett.
