Title Approaches to Ballet: Technique and Repertory
Description A studio course in ballet technique for advanced/intermediate students. The course consists of a pre-professional ballet class and selections of classical, neo-classical, and contemporary repertory. The course will focus on the work of four ballet choreographers: Marius Petipa, George Balanchine, Christopher Wheeldon, and Mark Morris. Guest Artists for the course are Suki Schorer, Jeffrey Edwards and Susan Jaffe. Readings and viewings of live and taped performances will further students' knowledge of the major trends of 20th century ballet.
Prerequisites Students are required to take two additional ballet classes per week, either co-curricular Princeton University classes or at Princeton Ballet School. <b>Interview Information</b> Interviews will be held Monday, Nov. 9th and 16th from 3:30 to 4pm in Room 216, Tuesday, Nov. 10th and 17th from 2:00 to 2:30pm in Room 114, Wednesday, Nov. 11th and 18th from 1:30 to 2pm in Room 117 AND 3:00 to 4pm in Room 216, Thursday, Nov. 12th & 19th from 1:00 to 2pm in Room 116, Friday, Nov. 13th and 20th from 1:00 to 1:30pm in Office B03 at the Berlind
