| Title | Problems in Greek Literature: Hellenistic Poetry |
| Description | A survey of recent developments in the study of Hellenistic poetry through consideration of a wide range of authors. Attention focuses on Callimachus, Apollonius Rhodius and Theocritus, but other poets, ranging in time from Philetas to Parthenius, will be considered, including some of the problems involved in working with highly fragmentary texts. Course also permits us to look at certain aspects of the reception of Hellenistic poetry in Roman literature. |
