Title Problems in Late Antique and Byzantine Art and Architecture
Description Seminar considers Byzantine aesthetics and related roblems in historiography" and coincides with the exhibition "Architecture as Icon", on view at the PUAM from March 6 to June 6, 2010. Course explores a wide range of issues, such as 'symbols in art', 'spiritual seeing', 'representation of space', 'two-dimensionality' vs. 'three-dimensionality', etc. Examination of relevant texts as well as of objects on display in the exhibition provides a unique opportunity for such an undertaking.
