Title Topics in Policy Analysis (Half-Term): Evolution & Reform of the Int'l Monetary System
Description Reviews the evolution of the international monetary system since the Second World War. Focuses on the roles of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the US dollar, but also examines the origins and functioning of the European Monetary Union, the emerging-market crises of the 1980s and 1990s, the international financial turmoil that began in 2007, the key role of the oil-producing countries, including Russia, and the outlook for monetary cooperation between China and its East Asian neighbors.
