Title Topics in Applied Economics: Financial Markets and Public Policy
Description Examines financial markets from both a theoretical and policy perspective. Topics include modern portfolio theory, financial asset pricing theories such as the Capital Asset Pricing Model, the Arbitrage Pricing Theory and derivative security pricing theories; key issues in corporate finance such as capital budgeting, capital structure and corporate governance. While modern finance is one of the more technically demanding areas of economics, course imparts the important concepts without a high level of mathematical rigor; the case format is used extensively. Prereq: 511c/instructor's permission.
