Course asks if international law can help to moderate or prevent war, why states sometimes pursue the prosecution of war criminals, and how law shapes and is shaped by international politics. Cases include Nuremberg and the aftermaths of World War I, the Armenian genocide, the Holocaust, the recent wars in ex-Yugoslavia and Iraq, and Al-Qaeda's terrorism. |
