Title Seminar on Student Learning and Methods for Teaching
Description A study of essential methods of teaching, with an emphasis on matching instruction to learner characteristics and needs. Students also become familiar with the organization and structure of educational institutions, development of curriculum and instructional goals, preparation of evaluation and assessment, and design of subject/level specific methodologies and classroom management techniques. Students perform 18 hours of site-based field experience. Students attend two seminar meetings and a weekly evening laboratory session.
Prerequisites The course is required for students in the Program in Teacher Preparation and is open to non-program students provided space is available. Interested non-program students should contact the Teacher Preparation Office for permission to take the course.
